Eat more weigh less. Volumetrics

volumetricsemail.jpgI’m sick of hearing the same old cr#p on dieting.  Everyone has a new twist and as my pants get tighter and tighter I get more and more annoyed.  There is an article from Yahoo Health on Volumetrics, the latest cure to chunkiness.  “Eat more weigh less” my ass!  Here are some excerpts with Unleashed comments:

Volumetrics is an eating plan developed by Dr. Barbara Rolls, a nutrition researcher at Penn State. Her discovery is that each day, in our efforts to feel satiated, we all eat about the same weight or amount of food. What this means is that if you choose to eat foods that are packed with calories (calorie dense), then you are going to gain weight.  Hey Barbara, EAT THIS!
The goal of the Volumetrics plan is to eat less of — but not avoid altogether — the high energy-dense foods, while eating more of the very low and low energy-dense foods. That way, you can eat the same volume of food you always have (or even more), while maintaining or even losing weight.  Oh, so let me guess, stuffed crust pizza is out of the question here.

Higher energy-dense foods include such items as chips, cookies, bagels, nuts, oils, and high-fat meats. Vegetables, fruits, skim milk, beans, and lean meats are all lower energy-dense foods.  Oh I saw this coming.  I didn’t think for a moment that Chocodiles and Doritos were going to be “lower-dense” foods.   Dr. Rolls, I could have come up with this theory.  Give us something new.  “Breakthrough… eating vegetables and lean meat will help you lose weight”.  NO SH#T.
WHERE IS THE F#CKING CHOCOLATE DIET THE DUTCH PROMOTE?  Ok I just made that up.  The reality is I can’t believe Yahoo gives this chick Rolls the time of day.  I’m going to write a diet plan.  It’s called “GET OFF THE COUCH” or “PUT DOWN THE CHEESE STEAK”.
