A man goes into a bar a guzzles a beer.  After he does so, he takes a picture of his wife out of his top pocket and looks at it.  Puts it back, orders another beer, downs it and looks at the picture again.  He does this several times more.  Finally the bartender asks him”why?”  The man says “I keep drinking until she looks good… then I go home to her”. 

General Norman Schwartzkopf was asked during an interview…if he thought there was room for forgiveness toward the people who have harbored and abetted the terrorists who perpetrated the 9/11 attacks on America.

 His answer was classic Schwartzkopf.

“I believe that forgiving them is God’s function.  OUR job is to arrange the meeting.”
 

The story:  Apparently residents in Bismarck, North Dakota,  arrived at their home to see a fire.  Could it have been a cigarette they forgot to put out?  Perhaps a joint?  Or maybe they left the stove and/or left the iron on… atop of a stack of newspapers and gasoline. All the following would have been acceptable… but in this case it was the smoke detector that was  at the route of their fiery problems.
