OK when one thinks of outsourcing IT, India is the big dog, or in Hindi, the Barda Kootha.  Here are some soft factors on why India is far superior.  Warning: Do not base your current IT Strategy on this article. 

Point 1:  Number of Gods to pray to when things go wrong

Ireland has essentially one god to pray to, while the Hindu religion has like a 100 gods to pray to.  Application crashes during a major launch, well if your single God is busy fighting world hunger or disaster you’re screwed.  With India, you have a plethora of gods to choose from… one has to be available.

Point 2:  Contacts onsite in US– reliability

OK so once again all hell has broken loose, so you need someone onsite (in country) to help.  Well if you go with Ireland Outsourcing, you have to hit a local bar to get some help.  Now bars are only open from like 11 AM to 2 AM the next morning.  With India Outsourcing, you can hit any local Seven Eleven or Quick Check and they are open 24/7/365.  PLUS… you can pick up a pack of smokes. 

Point 3:  Braveheart (William Wallace) vs. Gandhi factor

William Wallace was a wreck loose, Gandhi was a little more level headed.  You decide for your systems.  OK before anyone corrects me… I know Wallace is from Scotland, but screw it, close enough.

Point 4:  The Kamasutra

India wrote the Kamasutra, if they are responsible for this piece of work, they have to be doing something right.  Talk about complex systems. 

Point 5:  Movies: Bride and Prejudice vs. Leprechaun

In this soft factor, we look at movies that represent the culture.  I believe the movies speak for themselves.  You decide.

So if you need to outsource, India still remains on top… at least based on these observations.
